Intro to Portfolio Design class: Fall 2010
I recommend this class for anyone interested in having a great digital portfolio. The teacher is also going to let students kind of make what they want out of the class, as well.
What this means is that if you aren't really interested in the portfolio and branding applications of using After Effects, augmented reality, and other programs and skills, you can still structure what you do and learn toward something you are more interested in--say, animation...
If you don't know the power of After Effects or how cool augmented reality is, do a Google or YouTube search.
The course number is:

Photoshop Tutorials/Graphic Designers
Here are the websites that I was referring to in the class the other day:
Photoshop:
http://www.planetphotoshop.com/category/tutorials *I'd prefer this photoshop website
60 Graphic Designers:
Andy Goldsworthy
-British sculptor and photographer, and environmentalist living in Scotland
- produces site-specific sculpture and land art situated in natural and urban settings
- uses natural/found objects
"I find some of my new works disturbing, just as I find nature as a whole disturbing. The landscape is often perceived as pastoral, pretty, beautiful – something to be enjoyed as a backdrop to your weekend before going back to the nitty-gritty of urban life. But anybody who works the land knows it's not like that. Nature can be harsh – difficult and brutal, as well as beautiful. You couldn't walk five minutes from here without coming across something that is dead or decaying."
De Maria
Walter De Maria born in Albany, California on October 1, 1935
-an American sculptor and composer.
- Early sculptures from the 1960s were influenced by Dada and other modern art movements.
- Led De Maria into using simple geometric shapes and industrially manufactured materials such as stainless steel and aluminum – materials which are also characteristic of Minimal Art.
“the land is not the setting for the work but a part of the work”
