The teacher is also going to let students kind of make what they want out of the class, as well.<br /><br />What this means is that if you aren't really interested in the portfolio and branding applications of using After Effects, augmented reality, and other programs and skills, you can still structure what you do and learn toward something you are more interested in--say, animation...<br /><br />If you don't know the power of After Effects or how cool augmented reality is, do a Google or YouTube search.<br /><br />The course number is:<br /><br />01D:025:SCA<br /><br />NickSound Strategyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01534608596111428877noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8247418040947966471.post-53578024044552480822010-04-29T08:09:00.003-05:002010-04-29T08:11:11.402-05:00I know this is the day before the SAAH Fest but if ANYONE is interested in volunteering even just for an hour here is who you need to contact.. <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Tahoma, 'Sans Serif', Arial; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">natasha-hovey@uiowa.edu</span></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Tahoma, 'Sans Serif', Arial;font-size:100%;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 11px;"><br /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:'times new roman', serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Im sure even if you just show up at the studio art building and ask to help it would be very much appreciated. The group is maintained and organized by two prominent members, Matthew Lynch and Steve Badgett. Simparch creates large scale, usually interactive installations/works that examine simple architecture, building practices, and recyclable material. Simparch often works in collaberation with other artists including several musicians, filmmakers, graffiti artists, and skateboarders. Most of Simparch's works experiment with design and materials and encourage interaction.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><a href="http://www.simparch.org/">http://www.simparch.org/</a></div><div><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5TuGg0QgcYgd_SxQaHoYYOpjgS4p1LNtcH9CZXztEJpuwErsB7P-9icVAneCgPKLREXo_7f-7NVyB-f3patQ7LYWQbR6X4YEoJmZvPVqSr58WCf2G1CANneE93ll8Bz0ljbU7bj4ErDc/s1600/freebasin1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 219px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5TuGg0QgcYgd_SxQaHoYYOpjgS4p1LNtcH9CZXztEJpuwErsB7P-9icVAneCgPKLREXo_7f-7NVyB-f3patQ7LYWQbR6X4YEoJmZvPVqSr58WCf2G1CANneE93ll8Bz0ljbU7bj4ErDc/s320/freebasin1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462368327897329618" /></a><i><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">free </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">basin</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div></i><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQLyl41jNJuCPWB3OnXAfWuiAuYNCpNr1PgYLS9ae1ih_BefxQJHf4aWMQ-B1YEOpxBxSVpvqCvxcOGsKkCoLq4WtVd03P-ht4M7GWbzDWf8Jemp3FZxBZloZP6k009Tbv8Qd0x7t63-M/s1600/htrail1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQLyl41jNJuCPWB3OnXAfWuiAuYNCpNr1PgYLS9ae1ih_BefxQJHf4aWMQ-B1YEOpxBxSVpvqCvxcOGsKkCoLq4WtVd03P-ht4M7GWbzDWf8Jemp3FZxBZloZP6k009Tbv8Qd0x7t63-M/s320/htrail1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462368318719677138" /></a><i><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small; ">Hell's Trailer</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><br /></span></div></i><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9I-SzheO2JEB8n8yM9pjcb5EcfFZvjEGwY0xEReJV5J9FcQ7FesVOGgknNrxa_QbqYyEf-1hLwAGPccAaliG7s1hDTOralRgTDEjDPLTd2NzDxVgeiXkg0Sdj8rs5Y__PgK_bb7lHp70/s1600/trailer_three.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 136px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9I-SzheO2JEB8n8yM9pjcb5EcfFZvjEGwY0xEReJV5J9FcQ7FesVOGgknNrxa_QbqYyEf-1hLwAGPccAaliG7s1hDTOralRgTDEjDPLTd2NzDxVgeiXkg0Sdj8rs5Y__PgK_bb7lHp70/s320/trailer_three.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462368309846757282" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;"><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Manufactured Home</i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><br /></i></div></span><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5OnS0tX028ynhu6H-wY1hlIoobnwhtkfCAcxm_AYbnuaA6QHnxVlicHa9ZDFn267tluEvHJ-C5cp6HorTBGVQSBKivMdfgXdqCRqvkfY0z53onZ6odFKBUe7Ae8Q8vRYwBs4QNJhT__k/s1600/riserun1.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5OnS0tX028ynhu6H-wY1hlIoobnwhtkfCAcxm_AYbnuaA6QHnxVlicHa9ZDFn267tluEvHJ-C5cp6HorTBGVQSBKivMdfgXdqCRqvkfY0z53onZ6odFKBUe7Ae8Q8vRYwBs4QNJhT__k/s320/riserun1.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5462368309914880898" /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">R<i>ise Overrun</i></span></div>Adrienne Olundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11263503795059805422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8247418040947966471.post-18614659364325037562010-04-20T18:07:00.006-05:002010-04-21T12:24:58.366-05:00Michael Heizer<div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial;">Michael Heizer is a contemporary artist who began his work in New York City, but soon left for the deserts of California and Nevada. Land art was influenced primarily by cubism, minimalism, and conceptual art. Land art revolves around nature and the landscape, and is often placed in open areas away from civilization and left to erode under natural conditions over time. Land art is usually created in nature, using nature. It began using soil, rocks, organic media (logs, branches, leaves, water), eventually incorporating other materials like concrete, metal, and recycled items. Land art is a protest mainly against artificialness and commercialization of art, rejecting the museum/gallery-like setting. </span></p> <!--EndFragment-->Adrienne Olundhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11263503795059805422noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8247418040947966471.post-43725063519202315532010-04-18T15:32:00.027-05:002010-04-18T16:28:13.802-05:00Text As Image: Modern Day<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXVSxqDffKGoANdZC2JtiSoyNriJoSwQJubwQBr1iLh_Zwn4Yyi-dmLm-L8iYe4QsqkwJjkhh4KPUrnsT6Q9Ae2AqSmY21jXJJWHcuhuRKK6VDuMx8YecDDSF3-KgMK_PopCUD89Vook8/s1600/art,design,graphic,jimi,hendrix,music,arts-e9d2d28996cd3c582c4ae63317f2226a_h.jpg"><img style="cursor:pointer; In his attempt to rewrite all of human knowledge, Isou had discovered that the evolution of any art was characterized by two phases: 'amplic' and 'chiseling.' In following the development of the art of poetry for example, Isou saw the Lettrist at the end of a long chiseling phase which had begun with Baudelaire reducing narrative in his poetry to anecdote, then Rim<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'times new roman', serif; "><span style="font-family:Times;">baud disregarding anecdote for lines and words, Mallarmé reducing words to sound and spaces (particularly in <i>Un Coup de Des</i></span><span style="font-family:Times;">), and finally the Dadaists destroyed the word altogether. Isou saw at the end of this phase the new beginnings of an amplic stage for culture, from which a whole host of new arts, ways of working, and social institutions would eventually spring, with Isou at the center of all creative work.</span></span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Times;">The Lettrist worked on the level of the letter at the heart of what they believed to be an experiential language that was to be the basis of their new culture. Their <i>Lexique Des Lettres Nouvelles, </i></span><span style="font-family:Times;">for example was a sonic alphabet of a 130 or so sounds from which a new natural language was to spring from and from which they composed their poetry. Isou along with his chief lieutenant, Maurice Lemaitre, worked out a notational style that resembled that of traditional, 'common-practice' music, sometimes even with staffs, bar lines, and dynamic markings. Lettrist poetry was also often performed by choral groups.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Times, serif;"> <!--StartFragment--> </span></p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:Times, serif;"><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:Times;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:medium;">Letterism became the art that dominated posters, barricades, even clothing in the attempted revolution of 1968. Their name makes reference to the common practice on introducing non-native animals into a new habitat only to refer to them as an invasion species when they thrive. Animals like: wild rabbits, muskrats, red fire ants, raccoons and grey squirrels. <br />They recently explained to Good Magazine, "At best, it raises questions, like: "Where have all those animals gone in my environment" or "oops-was this piece of shrink wrapped supermarket meat really once alive and kicking?" We take discarded fur coats and reintroduce them to the environment by returning them to their former shape, making it "live," to let people perceive [that] this used to be a living animal. Then it was just an animal skin, with a human inside, and now it has returned as an animal. Maybe it also adds something wild to our civilized urban surrounding."<br /><br /><a href="http://">http://www.neozoon.org/pictures.html</a>zoe phillipshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13902963822566951715noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8247418040947966471.post-45557185568422719642010-04-14T09:51:00.003-05:002010-04-14T09:57:22.036-05:00Brusee Love<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8Ns8UvRyagU-kToZ7PcqFxlhikAwWSvsqLq1tE1lVOsepFg3X1VFNkerwTrRWDkcm2XJvQvUHM0mlEG3vU0BD89VvQkiJKbtXfOxbmBNiHaS_tN9ehFMlt522CwKRzRJWDjAEdrZBd5is/s1600/French+Kiss.png"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8Ns8UvRyagU-kToZ7PcqFxlhikAwWSvsqLq1tE1lVOsepFg3X1VFNkerwTrRWDkcm2XJvQvUHM0mlEG3vU0BD89VvQkiJKbtXfOxbmBNiHaS_tN9ehFMlt522CwKRzRJWDjAEdrZBd5is/s400/French+Kiss.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5460007351200686178" /></a><br />A gallery artist calling, who also takes his work to the streets.
